Hi! I'm Katie, I'm a mama of two gorgeous children

I have been a Hervey Bay local for 29 years now & really enjoy meeting lots of new faces through my photography business of 3+ years.
Kaptured by Katie was created not only to be able to capture & share in all your special moments, but also to be able to create a life where I can spend time with my two young children and share in my own family’s special moments as they grow so very quickly.

NEWBORN SESSIONS ARE BOOKED IN APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK PAST YOUR DUE DATE. WE THEN ALTER THIS DATE TO BEST SUIT ONCE YOUR LITTLE ONE HAS ARRIVED

Why hire a family photographer?

this time with your kids is so important

In a world where everyone has a camera on their phone, you might wonder why you should hire a professional photographer for your family portraits. Camera phones are amazing to take snapshots of everyday moments. However, when it comes to creating beautiful and artistic images of your family, hiring a professional photographer is a decision you won't regret!
Not to mention the entire family (mum included!) can be in the photos.

FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

Each package will specify how many images you will receive. Most of the time, there will be an option to purchase additional images at an additional cost of 3 for $25.

How should we dress for our family session?

Neutral colours are always a great option. But it really depends what sort of vibe you want for your images. Sometimes a pop of colour looks great. I always love khakis, whites and beiges for family photos. I also love when large families all wear white & pastel colours.
Some things to keep in mind..
1. I recommend you stay away from black if possible as it doesn't always photograph the best.
2. Try to stick to only one person wearing a print, and the others wearing plain colours that compliment the print.
3. Linen crushes on the car ride to your session, so if you can get away with it, you could get dressed once you arrive.

What’s the best time to have a Newborn Session?

I always find that 7 days old is the best time to photograph your newborn, as they are still quite sleepy and can be manipulated into positions more easily. But anywhere up to 14 days is still great.

When should I book my Maternity Session?

Booking in with me for your session is best to do a few months in advance as I book out 2-3 months ahead of time. Anywhere from 34-37 weeks pregnant is the best time to have your maternity photos taken.
